ArtPlay Pavilion
Dulwich Picture Gallery

ArtPlay Pavilion in the leafy grounds of Dulwich Picture Gallery is a sensory-rich playground where under 8s can run over Canaletto’s bridge and swing among Poussin’s clouds! Inspired by artworks in the gallery's permanent Collection, each play zone brings four elemental themes to life:
Earth
Soft, root-like forms echo Jan van Kessel’s A Wood near The Hague—earthy tones meeting cozy seating.
Sunlight
Warm, glowing textures and light-catching props channel brilliance from Arent de Gelder’s Jacob’s Dream, Poussin’s luminous clouds, and Rembrandt’s Girl at a Window.
Water
Flowing fabrics and wavy surfaces reflect the drama of Jacob van Ruisdael’s A Waterfall, serene bridges from Adam Pynacker’s Italian landscapes, and Aelbert Cuyp’s shimmering river scenes.
Wind
Feel the breeze with a cloud-like swing and spinning windmills inspired by Gaspard Dughet’s stormy trees, Willem van de Velde’s billowing sails, and Ruisdael’s windmill vistas.
